I was really proud of our youth who served on the mission trip to Washington D.C.and shared their testimonies recently in the Sunday morning services. If you didn’t get a chance to hear them at the service, make sure to ask a youth about the trip. I also want to acknowledge Stephen Chun, who prepared the excellent video presentation that captured exactly, the essence of the trip in a playful and entertaining way.
Thank you, CCC friends and members for your prayers and for supporting to make this trip affordable for our participants. Our youth gained valuable experience, and they were able to help make a difference in the lives of the children and elderly folks who they served during the week. We were greatly blessed by those folks as a result of our efforts. You have invested in a very promising and talented group of young people in the CCC youth group and in the lives of individuals in the D.C. area.
Mission opportunities are not limited to youth groups. You have the opportunity to serve locally with the Crossing Community team that serves regularly at Stowe Mission, and there is the upcoming opportunity to serve on a trip to Kentucky. Contact Betty Brown for more information. I also extend the invitation to anyone who wishes to serve on an adult mission trip to talk to me about future opportunities.
Shifting gears to VBS immediately upon our return from Washington D.C., we had an exhausting but fun-filled week of singing, games, recreation and Bible study. Thanks to Robin Juszli for organizing a great week. I also want to thank all of the teachers and helpers that contributed their time and efforts to decorating, making crafts and serving delicious VBS-themed snacks. I saw some of the most creative decorations ever and the yummy Submerged snacks were works of art as well!
